The eight-year-old rape victim from Magura remains in extremely critical condition at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Hospital Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman reported the child is still unconscious and under intensive care in the Pediatric ICU. The young girl was brutally raped last Wednesday night while visiting her sister's home in Magura.

Initially treated at Magura Sadar Hospital, her deteriorating condition required transfers to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and ultimately DMCH, where she was placed on life support Friday night. Distraught family members maintain vigil outside the ICU, with the child's mother frequently collapsing from grief, crying out why her daughter won't wake up.

Police have arrested the primary suspect - the sister's 47-year-old father-in-law Hitu Sheikh - along with the sister's 18-year-old husband Sajib Sheikh and brother-in-law. Medical authorities confirm the victim suffered neck injuries during the assault, causing breathing difficulties, along with fever and suspected pneumonia, requiring ventilator support.

A special four-doctor medical board has been assembled to oversee treatment. Family members revealed the victim was a third-grade student visiting from Shreepur when attacked. Shockingly, they allege Hitu had previously attempted to assault his own daughter-in-law (the victim's sister) shortly after her marriage, but poverty prevented the family from speaking out.

Hospital officials have requested p ublic prayers for the child's recovery as doctors continue their desperate fight to save her life. The case has sparked nationwide outrage, with the High Court already intervening to order an expedited 180-day trial process.
